General Information about bookmarks:

What is bookmarks?
Our internet-based bookmarks software allows you to create your very own private links directory. You may subsequently edit or delete these links, using your admin functions.

What are the terms of usage?
The system does Not come with any guarantees. The system is used on an as available, as is basis, with no warrenty or guarantee of any kind. And by using this system, you agree to these terms. In addition, you agree Not to use this system to house highly personal or confidential information about yourself or others. Also, as stated in our basic terms of service, your email address is never sold or shared with any outside parties; it is only used to communicate with you regarding your account, and of course, to give you the ability to signin to your account.






How do I Sign-up for a Bookmarks Account ?

Step 1::
Click on the "Sign-up for new account." link. Enter your firstname and lastname, in the fields provided.
Enter your email-address in the field provided. Note: Please use an email address that you own; do NOT use someone elses email address. You must also give us a valid email address, or you will not be able to complete the sign-up process, and the system will not work correctly. Now enter your desired password in the two fields provided. Note: password must be at least 5 characters long. Now click on the Sign - Up button.
If successful, the system will now respond with a "thank you" message that your userid has been added to the system.

Step 2::
Now go to your email box and open the "Bookmarks: Welcome" email from us. Look at the line that says: "Here is your account ACTIVATION code:xxxxxx". Where "xxxxxx" is your activation code. Using your mouse, highlight and copy the activation code. (Note: if you wish, you may just write it down on a piece of paper, but be careful, the activation code is case sensitive and may contain capital letters).
Now go back to the bookmarks homepage (or just click on the link that is being displayed on the "thank you" screen.) Go down to the form that says: Activate New Userid:. In the field marked "Activation Code:", paste (or type) the activation code that you just got from the welcome email. Now enter your email address in the field marked: "Your email address:". Click on the " [Activate ]" button.
If successful, the system will respond with the following message: Thank you, (Name). Your userid has been successfully activated. Please return to the bookmarks Homepage and Login to your new account.

** Important: Steps 1 and 2 are one-time events only.

Step 3::
Go to the bookmarks homepage. Go down to the "Existing Users Login:" form. Enter your email address and your password (not the activation code). Click on the [ Login ] button.




Tutorial

Step 1 : Sign-up for your Bookmarks account. (See above section, How do I sign-up?)



Step 2 : Create your Profile record. (Optional)
After you signin to your bookmarks account, click on the Profile button.
Fill out the form and click on the Submit button. Note: The creation of your Profile record is generally a one-time event; however, you may change/edit your Profile record at any time.




Step 3: Create Folders
Note: you must create at least one Folder for your bookmarks, by clicking on the "Folders" button. Then click on the Add New Folder button. You may ADD more folders to your account at any time; you may also EDIT or DELETE existing folders, as needed.

Edit and Delete of existing folder records:
A folder can be changed by clicking on the Edit button, that appears to the immediate right of the folder name. An empty folder can be deleted, by clicking on the Delete button, that appears to the immediate right of the folder name.

View Link
Clicking on the view link button next to the folder name, will display the links that are in that folder only.

Add Link
Clicking on the add link button next to the folder name, will display a form that will allow you to add a link to that folder. You can also use the bookmark button to add links to folders.




Step 4: Create your bookmarks records.
Note: you must create at least one Folder for your bookmarks, by clicking on the "Folders" button. To create bookmark (or link) records, simply click on the Bookmarks link. Then click on the Add New Bookmark button. Note: The creation of your bookmarks records is generally a one-time event; however, you may ADD more entries to your bookmarks at any time. You may also EDIT or DELETE existing records at any time.

Edit and Delete of existing bookmarks records:
A summary of all bookmarks records can be viewed by clicking on the bookmarks button. A record can be changed by clicking on the Edit Link button, that appears to the immediate right of the record. A record can be deleted, by clicking on the Delete Link button, that appears to the immediate right of the record.




Option Button Summary:
The following option buttons appear at the top and bottom of the bookmarks screens:
Home: This button returns to the bookmarks login or home page.

My Website: Goes to your website, if you have the url defined in your profile record.

Help: Invokes the help screen.

Profile: Brings up a form that allows you to add or edit your profile record.

Folder: Brings up a form that allows you to add, edit, or delete folder records.

Bookmarks: This button will display all your bookmark records that are currently in your file.

User-Admin: With this button, you can change your bookmarks password, or delete your bookmarks account. Warning: when you delete your bookmarks account, all of your records are deleted, and cannot be recovered!
